Why is my cat isolating herself and not moving much, but seems fine?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Himalayan | Female | unspayed | 2 years and 1 month old

She's been isolating herself lately, sits in the same spot , don't move much elsewhere, though she's eating and drinking well. Yet she doesn't mingle with the other cats ( her kittens and spouse ). And She doesn't seem sick. What could it be?

It may be her personality. Some cats are more solitary than others. If she had rpeviously been more social, have her examined by your veterinarian to diagnose illness or injury. Either can cause sudden behavioral changes. Monitor for signs of bulllying or aggression by the other cats as well.
