My 7-week kitten is lethargic with a fast heartbeat. What should I do?

I have a 7 week old kitten that is very lethargic & a very fast heart beat, but can move around under her own power & has been this way all day

It sounds like Jenny is pretty sick. Viral infections are very common in kittens and can make them sick very fast. The high heart rate worries me that her body is struggling to maintain normal blood flow or normal oxygen levels in her blood stream. I recommend to take her into the veterinarians office asap as this sounds like an emergency. The doctor will provide supportive care (fluids, antibiotics) and may recommend a radiograph to rule out pneumonia. Take Jenny needs care fast. Best of luck.

    I am concerned that she is very lethargic with a fast heart beat so she should be examined by a vet to determine the cause. She could have an infection, parasite, congenital heart problem, dehydration, liver/kidney problem. etc. Your vet can run lab-work, if needed, to help diagnose and then prescribe medications to help. Hope she feels better soon!
