Why does my dog have swollen hives or bumps with no known cause?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Male | neutered | 1 year and 6 months old | 100 lbs

My dog has come out in some sort of swollen hives, I though he had knocked it but there are more each time I look, I'm thinking it could be a reaction but he hasn't come in t contract with anything we can think of.

It's hard to tell from the pictures but these could be hives or they could be areas of skin infection. They can look very similar. If the problem persists and is causing Reggie discomfort I would recommend taking him in to see your vet so they can determine what exactly is going on and how to treat it.
