It appears my dog has pale ear flaps. Another site I looked at asked the lady if the dog shakes his head or scratches at his ears. she said he does not scratch or shake and the vet said no problem for pale ear flaps. But our dog does shake his head and scratch his left ear (more in the recent past than now) but i was rubbing his ear last night and he moved his head to avoid it. was to the vet recently and vet said ears ok though. concerned of pale skin ear flaps.

Pale ear flaps by themselves usually aren't cause for concern, but if Cooper is shaking his head or pawing at his ears it may indicate that they're a bit irritated. Mites, infections, yeast, allergies and more can all cause itchy ears that usually have redness or pain/irritation when touched. The ears may also have a strange smell or discharge coming from them. If you suspect there is an issue inside the ear, having your vet take another look is a good idea. Using an Elizabethan (cone) collar to prevent Cooper from scratching can also help reduce irritation.
