Cat sleepy, not eating after feline leukemia vaccine. Is this normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 1 year and 1 month old | 11 lbs

My 1 year old male cat had a feline leukemia vaccine today and now he is not being affectionate, hasn't eaten his dinner, and isn't being active. He is just sleeping. Is this normal or should I get him back to the vet?

This can be normal! Vaccines and the trip to vet can be very tiring and stressful so it isn't uncommon for them to sleep a lot afterwards. If he isn't improved by tomorrow then yes I would recommend to take him back to the vet.
