My dog scares people by barking and jumping. How can I stop it?

Hello my dog runs around people and barks and sometimes he jumps up to people trying to pet him and barks at them. It makes people scared of him and he never listens to me when I tell him to stop. I think he's doing this cause my neighbor scared him when he was little but I'm not sure. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 1 month old

Hi, It is important not to reward this behavior by having people pet him when he does this. Ignoring him and looking away will help show him that when he does this , he will not get pet or shown attention when this behavior is displayed. You can also try bringing Balto to a behavior training class. These are offered at some pet stores that may be near you. Hopefully he learns that when he is calm and not jumping, that is when he will be rewarded with affection.
