My senior German Shepherd is bloated, not eating, and heart racing.

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 7 years and 7 months old | 75 lbs

I have an 8 year old German shepherd dog he hasn't eaten in over 24hrs and his stomach is a bit bloated. His heart also seems to be beating slightly faster than usual and I'm starting to get a bit concerned... He has a different look in his eyes and definitely isn't his usual self...he still wants to go for a walk and play with the ball but not with his usual enthusiasm. He is passing food ok which actually makes me a bit more worried that he's a bit bloated. Any help really would be appreciated

I strongly recommend you get him checked by your vet tomorrow, fluid build up from heart orr liver disease can give the appearance of bloating. A full physical or and possibly ultrasound may be required
