Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Male | neutered | 11 years and 3 months old
I had 2 fur baby's one was very ill with Cushing's we had to put her to sleep in April. The last straw was her constant licking of her front paws to the point of constant infections eventually a cone 24/7. My other dog never did it until about a month ago. Now what can I do to stop this behavior my other dog could no longer walk. I can't loose this one too. I've tried all the bitter sprays, i have bitter vet wrap but that's going to make him concentrate only on his paws. He's in a cone now too.

Poor Thumper! I would recommend a full physical and blood panel to rule out any medical causes of the irritation but it may also be due to the loss of his companion. Calming food and supplements can make a massive difference alongside pheromone products and a change in routine with frequent walks, food based treat toys and chews can all help as a distraction.
