Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 25 lbs

Comment: Hi, I want to know is it safe to buy puppies without vet/health card? I seen a Pin Tzu (Mini Pinschers x Shitzu) in a online shop. I also don't know about the breeder. Is their a risk?? Any help will be appreciated. Regards, Christian Joshua Day #0237 St.Bernadette Subd., Sto.Rosario,Capas,Tarlac,Philippines.

You can do it, but it is not recommended. You may be purchasing a very sick puppy or it may not be the breed(s) listed on the paperwork. It is never recommended to buy a puppy from a pet store or online store. Adopt from your local shelter or choose a reputable breeder to avoid inadvertently supporting puppy mills.

I would be cautious of getting a puppy with no veterinary record that states they have been screened for parasites, congenital diseases and had vaccines. If you want to get this puppy it would be "at the buyer's risk" which usually earns any health issues found after the sale are up to you to have treated and not the seller's liability.
