Pet's info: Dog | Shih Tzu | Male | unneutered | 5 years old | 9 lbs
Hi. Last Thursday or Friday I noticed traces of blood in my shih-tzu's pee. And today I'm just noticed these (picture uploaded) on his lower underbelly closer to his genitals. I think he knows it's there because he got very aggressive and aggravated as we tried to look at the area when I snapped this picture. How urgent is this issue? His next check-up isn't until August. Should we have him seen sooner?

Dogs could have blood in their urine from a urinary tract infection, stones in the urinary tract or even an issue with their prostate gland. I recommend Rigby be seen by his veterinarian sooner than August to make sure nothing is going on. This is because some of those potential causes of blood in the urine can be very serious and require surgery. The lesions are saying on his belly could be due to a skin infection and unrelated to the blood in the urine.
