Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Male
My cousin had a 2 year old un neutered male persian cat which died last week. He was neutered a month ago and has struggled for a month before giving up. What I came to know was that he was given anesthesia twice by mistake on the day he was to be neutered. He woke up 2 days later. He gave up everything...food, water, treats etc. Please tell me what could've been the possible cause of his death. Anesthesia or something else? I can't sleep because I was the one who suggested to get him neutered.

I'm so sorry about your cousin's cat. There are multiple potential causes for his passing away. He could have developed a condition called FIP, dry form, which is not 100% understood but it's not an infectious or cancerous disease. It is also possible if there were any underlying kidney issues anesthesia could have sent the cat in the kidney failure. Also if a cat stops eating he can develop a secondary problem called fatty liver and that can be fatal. If it all possible a postmortem exam similar to a human autopsy could help determine what exactly happened. If not please know there are multiple causes outside of anesthesia that could be to blame.
