My 4-month kitten poops less and sleeps more. Is this normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Ragdoll | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 17 days old | 13 lbs

My 4month ragdoll kitten has begun poopingonce in 36hrs and sleeping much more since past 3days. Vet said his bowels gut etc is all smooth and ok. I don't think he has constipation as I feed him pumpkin puree twice every day in small quantities and his poop is not hard etc. He's peeing normally. What is the issue? He used to poop once a day before this.

This could just be a normal change as his GI tract matures, absorbs more and therefore he will defecate/poop less. As long as Baluu continues to be normal otherwise (eating, drinking, normal energy level) he should be ok.
