Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 16 lbs
My female 9 year old cat Sasha was advised by my Vet to go on a totally wet food diet. But she was having poopy accidents around my apartment. Also Sasha scrapes at her privates with her paw over & over & does a lot of licking near her private areas. Can cats get yeast infections? This behavior has been going on for a few months now. She is back to wet & dry food. She's a very over-weight cat who has been over-eating for the 9 years I've had her. What should I do for her? Thank you very much

Please check with your vets office about the reason for the wet food recommended, if this was due to inflammation of the urinary tract this may be causing the itching and discomfort also. i recommend a urinary analysis in order to identify any medical complications such as infections, crystals or diabetes. It may be necessary to modify her diet depending on results, many brands have urinary diets which she may tolerate better
