My cat has a pimple-like bump on his chest. Should I be concerned?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | unneutered | 5 years and 10 months old | 10 lbs

My cat has a bump on his chest area. Almost between the front two legs. It's almost pimple/zit Luke in appearance. It's not a tick or flee. Not really abnormal in color. Really just like a zit. Is this a concern? Any idea what it is?

This could be a pustule which is a local bacterial infection or even a small cyst. If it is just one it may go away on its own. But if there are multiple, this one becomes larger or seems painful your cat may need medication from your veterinarian.

This is likely a small papule or pustule, and as long as there is only one and it does not spread, it should go away on its own and not to be concerned. If it gets bigger, I'd recommend an exam and fine needle aspirate so your vet can diagnose it, and put Ronald on the proper medications to deal with it. Hope that helps!
