Why is my dog shaking and refusing to walk after traveling?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 13 lbs

Took dog to another state, had her in a kennel where we could see her and she could see us. Whem we left we had to carry her she was shaking and her back legs kept buckling. Shes been like that since her legs are shaky if she walks at all shes really slow moving which is unusual. Its been 3 days she refuses walking anywhere i have to carry her from car to pee on drive home and then back to the car she just wont walk. She has gotten up on her own but that was after laying down for hours.

Oh poor nixie! I would be worried that she could have a disc issue in her back causing pain and incoordination in her back legs. Alternatively she could be painful from another issue such as her hips or knee. I would have a veterinarian evaluate her as soon as possible. They can prescribe pain medication to help her significantly. In the meantime keep her very quiet and resting. I hope she feels better very soon.
