Why is my dog's hard hair patch falling out with dandruff attached?

A patch of hair was hard on my dog so I look in thick coat of what it looks like dandruff so I got a dry clothes rub it and the patch of hair came off of him in clothes with dandruff connected to bottom of hair. Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Male | 6 years and 6 months old | 65 lbs

If you happen to have a picture of what this looks like it would help identify could be going on. Your dog could have an area of focal dermatitis which is just an irritation of the skin. It could also be a focal area of a bacterial infection that may respond to a topical shampoo. Also we can see dandruff in dogs but it's usually not focal it's all over the body.
