My dog ate a water bottle cap 6 days ago. He has been acting normal eating, drinking, playing.. the only problem is he has thrown up four times now and no cap. Should i be concerned or should i wait a a bit longer. P.S he has eaten a sock in the past and thrown it up two weeks after ingesting

If he is eating and drinking normally, and does not throw up after he eats, he may be ok. The only way to know for sure is to take him in for xrays. Your vet may want to do a barium study to actually see if the cap is still somewhere in his GI tract, as plastic often does not show up on a regular X-ray. There is a chance that he has passed it or will pass it in his stool. If he keeps throwing up, or starts acting lethargic and puny, or doesn't want to eat, you can't wait any longer and need to see your vet. Hope that helps!

The fact that he is still eating and passing stool is a good sign and I would continue to monitor closely. Any persistent vomiting or pain would indicate the need for a full check up and likely xrays
