Why is my 8-year-old Golden Retriever bleeding heavily after heat?

Pet's info: Dog | Golden Retriever | Female | 7 years and 7 months old | 30 lbs

My golden retriever 8 years old, female having heavy bleeding from today. She was on heat in march this year but she had very little flow then. But today since morning she is having heavy flow which is not normal for any female dog. Please help.

Bonnie could have an infection of her uterus causing increased bleeding as well as a clotting disorder. She needs to be seen by a veterinarian as if she has an infection it can become life threatening.

    Poor girl. I would have her seen by your vet to ensure she doesn't have any complications associated with her heat cycle, such as an underlying bleeding disorder, ovarian mass/tumor, etc. Its best to get her checked and get her started on anti-infalmmatory to help with her soreness and bleeding.
