My dog's sick again: red eyes, cough, not eating after antibiotics?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 26 days old | 35 lbs

My dog was sick 3 weeks ago (tired, not eating much, have a cough sometime, red eyes, eyelid was "low" like old dog) . Since few days, he got some good symptoms after medical treatment. i gave him 6 days Antibiotic + calcium and some vitamins (10days). He ate again, his eyes. But since yesterday, bad symptoms just came back, started with the red eyes again. I've been told that he vaccinated but not any certificated. Could you please help to advice as the veterinary in VN is so desperate. Thanks!

Hello! It sounds as if his antibiotic course may not have been long enough, but it is a little hard to know for sure, as I'm not sure what he was being treated for. It sounds like he might have had a fever. Possibly he had kennel cough, in which case, antibiotics often need to be for up to 10 days. Would you be able to take him back in to see his vet, to be checked over, and possibly to be re-started on his antibiotics? Some blood work might be helpful, too! He might need specific treatment for his eyes as well. He is adorable, and I really hope he feels better soon!
