My Lab mix has hip dysplasia. What helps his pain when getting up?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 7 years and 9 months old | 80 lbs

What treatment do you recommend for 8 year old lab mix with hip dysplasia. Left hip causing lot of pain when getting up. Been taking glucosamine for many years.

Hi. Poor Tucker. I'm glad he is already on a joint supplement. Adding in fish oil/omega 3 supplement may be a good idea as well. But for pain management I would recommend seeing a veterinarian for prescription medication. Human otc pain meds are not safe or effective for dogs and Tucker will likely need to be on fairly chronic pain medication as dysplasia is a progressive disorder. There are many options available for dogs with arthritis and dysplasia.
