I found a baby wild bunny and brought it home. What should I do?

Pet's info: Dog | Cocker Spaniel | Female | unspayed | 7 years old | 33 lbs

Hi. I have a problem and I don't know what to do. I found a bunny on a road at night and a cat was coming towards it. So I picked it up and brought it home (just a few meters away). I'm afraid I did a big mistake bringing it home because I think it's a wild bunny. But I couldn't live it because there were many cats. I don't know what to do now but this only happened an hour ago. I am looking forward to your advice Eva

If at all possible try to take the bunny back close to where you found it and release it, hidden from predators. The following link is for wildlife in the US but basic principles still apply. http://www.wingsofhoperehab.org/injured_animal.html

If you think the leg is hurt and needs medical care, you can call local vets for the name of an organization or wildlife rehabber that can take care of it. If you think it might be okay, it would be best to put it back near the nest so the mom can come back for it (even if the bunny is covered in dog saliva, the mom will still come back for it).
