Why is my cat's eye swollen shut with raw skin and hair loss?

My daughters cat has a large patch of missing hair that is raw and red right by her eye. The eye is now swollen shut. What could it be? Thought it was a hot spot and treated for that but didn't help and has gotten worse. First 2 picks were 7/8 days ago. Last pic is now. Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 4 years and 9 months old | 13 lbs

This looks like a pretty bad skin infection. Poor paisley! (Love that name!!). This kind of infection can be caused by a cat bite abscess, wound that got infected, or even some fungal infections. I would get paisley to a vet as soon as you can for treatment and antibiotics. Hope she heals very fast!
