Hello, My male gerbil is around 1 and a half years old and I have noticed recently he is drinking large quantities of water and frequently. More than normal. Unfortunately he lives by himself in his own cage as he got into fights with my other 2 gerbils. He drinks more water than my other 2 gerbils put together. He weighs 120 grams. He also exercises in his wheel a lot more than my other gerbils. Do you think this is out of boredom and more exercise, or because of a health problem?

Polydipsia (increased drinking levels) can be caused by a variety of causes. Kidney problems (infections, failures), endocrine or metabolic dysfunctions (diabetes or electrolytes imbalances), persistent inappetence are all possible and must be ideally investigated starting with a blood test and urine analysis. I would strongly recommend a check up at your local veterinarian.
