My cat for some reason ate a 250 mg stool softener. It's docusate sodium 250 mg. What should I do rush him to the vet or will he be OK.

Hello. Rolo should be ok. This is a high dose for a cat however it shouldn't cause too much trouble. Rolo may have some cramping and diarrhea, so if he is painful then have him seen by a vet, but otherwise just make sure he has lots of water. Good luck with Rolo.

It can cause diarrhoea as docusate is a dug to relieve constipation. The dose for cats is 50-100 mg, so even if he ate the entire capsule, it should not be an overdose for him. Feed him with a bland diet for the next 3-4 days based on white fish and rice. If you notice any vomiting, inappetence or lethargy a check up would be needed.
