Why is my cat's paw oozing, smelly, and painful after biopsy?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 2 years and 2 months old | 17 lbs

I have a 2 yr old tabby cat. He's been having issues with is fr9nt right paw. We've been trying to treat it through vet visits for a month. He has a biopsy done yesterday and now the spot where the stiches are seem to be oozing a little and his paw has an odor. You can tell he's in a lot of pain.

It sounds like the foot may have gotten infected. You can soak the foot in warm (but not hot) water with Epsom salts or disinfectant solution tonight and then take Milo back to the vet who performed the biopsy first thing in the morning.
