Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 1 year and 7 months old
My kitty, Susie has what appear to be hiccups after she eats and is grooming herself on the bed before we go to sleep. It's the only answer I've been able to find anywhere. They seem rather jolting to me. Could it be something else?

It is possible that Susie may be regurgitating which could be due to a disease called megaesophagus which, although more common in Siamese, can occur in other cats. If Susie does have megaesophagus, she will need to be examined by a veterinarian who will be able to discuss treatment options with you.

What you're hearing could be teeth grinding as well as a reverse sneeze. I recommend having her teeth/mouth examined for any abnormalities if the noise/behavior continues. If it is a reverse sneeze the episodes should go away on their own.
