Why is my dog sick after a trip, not eating, and only wants chicken?

My 1.5 yr old Eskie just came back from a trip. He has gone on trips before with no effect. While away he refused to eat or play and would vomit. Now that we are home he will only eat protein (boiled chicken) and won't touch anything else. He is normally very active but now he just sleeps all day. Took him to the vet and the only thing they could find was a slight swelling of the intestine. I'm being him back for blood work but any suggestions on what it may be or what to feed him? You can keep him on a bland diet such as the boiled chicken and white rice, cottage cheese, or just plain white rice. I would wait for the blood test results before trying any other diet and or treatments. His signs could be due to an infection, parasites, kidney and/or liver issues, pancreatitis, and rarely endocrine disease.
