Why is my senior dog vomiting, lethargic, and his vomit smells odd?

Pet's info: Dog | Border Collie | Male | unneutered | 12 years and 2 months old | 70 lbs

Hi, My border collie is 13, he has been vomiting for over 36 hours he is very lethergic. vomit has a sickly perfumey smell.. he takes 1 tablet per day to stop diaoreha because of intestine damage from he was a puppy.

Based on that history and your dog's age I would be concerned about something more serious going on than simple gastritis. His symptoms could be due to a metabolic disease like Diabetes, kidney failure, pancreatitis, toxin exposure as well as intestinal disease like an obstruction. With the lethargy he could be dehydrated and/or in pain and need further care. I recommend you have your veterinarian examine Barney as soon as possible.
