Is a 3-month-old kitten too young for boarding? What to consider?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 3 months old | 3.7 lbs

I'm going away for a month and I cannot bring my kitten. He's 3 months old so I'm nervous about leaving him boarding. Is he too young to leave at a boarding service? What are the key things a boarding service should have for my kitten to be comfortable and safe? Are there certain things I should avoid, like boarding services that aren't at vet clinics or hospitals?

First of all he isn't too young just as long as he is fully vaccinated. you should make sure this is a nice boarding place, not a huge one if possible, they don't need to be vet clinics (those are usually less comfi for the cats). just bring him some of his toys, his bed and his food, he should be fine!

No, he is not too young. As long as he is vaccinated, he should be able board without any problems. I recommend a facility that has 24 hour monitoring, access to veterinary care, and a solitary cat ward for comfort. I would look at the boarding facilities in the area including veterinary hospitals and their online reviews. Finally, I would go and check out the facility to make sure it fits He Tian's needs.
