Dawn dish soap can be used to help kill fleas or remove greasy spots, however it is recommended to use a regular pet shampoo for routine bathing. Pet shampoos often have extras in them to prevent the coat and skin from drying out and getting flaky.

You can bathe Athena safely in Dawn to get rid of the sticky spots in her fur, but she isn't too young for certain flea treatments. You can use Frontline Spray on her, which is safe to use on puppies as young as two days of age. You could use Advantage spot on treatment, which is safe for puppies of any age. Just get the box that has her weight on it to get the correct dose. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

I wouldn't use it on a regular basis. It can be used on puppies to kill fleas who are too little to get flea treatment, and to wash toxic substances off dogs, but it would be better to use a dog formulated shampoo instead. While Dawn is gentle, using it too often can cause your dog's skin to dry out.
