My rabbit lost her partner. Get a new one or bring her inside?

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | 5 years and 5 months old | 15 lbs

Hello, I wonder if you can help. I have a female rabbit whose partner died suddenly last week (both age 5 )we think he died of shock in a very bad storm we had. I had previously got her as company for him when his partner died last year. Would the best advice be to get her a male partner same age (which I have tried with no luck yet) or to bring her indoors to live (not litter trained though) or give her to a rescue place locally? Also I thought of getting an older guinea pig for company for her

I'm sorry about the loss of your bun. Rabbits do tend to do better in pairs, but it has to be a slow and gradual process to see if two rabbits will become a bonded pair. I would suggest talking to your local rescue to see if they would work with you to find her a partner. Rabbits tend to have longer, healthier lives inside - so I would recommend turning her into a house rabbit with or without a partner. I don't believe the House Rabbit Society has a chapter in the UK, but here is thier website for a lot of great information and articles on pairing bunnies, training them etc. Good luck. I hope Lola has a long and happy life and manages to find a new partner. http://rabbit.org/
