My mouse just had a litter. What should I do about a retained baby?

My mouse recently had a litter on the 22nd may and still has a retained baby inside her, what can I do

The only way to be sure Lucy has a retained fetus is by doing an x-ray. Sometimes a vet can palpate the abdomen and feel a baby inside but this can be tricky for even a trained vet. If Lucy truly does have a retained fetus for going on 10 days she would likely be very ill. She probably would have an infection in her uterus and would be very lethargic and not eating. If Lucy is acting completely normal she probably does not have a retained fetus. If Lucy is showing any of these symptoms she will need to visit your vet and a surgery may need to be performed to remove the retained fetus.
