Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Bird | Unknown - Bird | Female

Hello, my African gray has recently got sick. I can hear it has a blocked nostril and when it breathes its whole body moves.. Its left nostril puffs up and goes back to normal with breathing. sometimes. I've took several pictures nothing abnormal shows up (hence, I didn't attach one). It does shake/shiver as well. Please help me out, thank you.

It sounds as if Casco may have an upper respiratory infection or respiratory issue if his nostrils are blocked and you can hear a raspy/wheezing sound. It would be best to bring him to a vet immediately for care, especially if he is already showing signs of illness. Until you can get to the vet, keeping him warm in a quiet spot with access to food and water can help.
