Why is my cat losing fur and getting sores on his back and legs?

My cat's fur has been thinning on his back legs and lower back and now has started getting big sores only on his shoulder blades. It has only been happening for a few weeks now and I'm not sure what caused it or how to fix it? Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 2 years and 9 months old | 10 lbs

Poor kitty! It looks like your cat has a skin infection but there could be other issues as well. Sometimes allergies can actually cause those problems to come up. Virgil should be seen by his veterinarian so they can determine if medication is needed for these spots as well as how to avoid them coming back
