My dog had allergies last month and I switched his dog food completely after that. He has not been drinking too much water after the allergies so I gave him hypo allergenic food and switched him to Royal Canin Urinary SO since I was worried about his water intake. When he was back to normal after 3 weeks, I'm lessening the RCU SO and his water intake decreases as well. He sheds too much as well and I'm worried. What do you think is the problem?

So if you are using the hypoallergenic diet in the hopes that it will lessen Black's allergy symptoms, then you need to feed only that food exclusively for at least 8-10 weeks to see if it works. If your dog is healthy and does not have kidney disease then I am not sure why you are worried about him drinking a certain volume of water. Shedding is a problem with most dogs, and can only be helped by daily brushing. If you are worried your dog is drinking too much water, then you need to have him examined by a vet and bloodwork and urinalysis done to see if he has any metabolic illness going on. Hope that helps!
