My dog got bit and his wound burst. What can I do for his pain now?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Chinese Shar-Pei | Male | neutered | 15 days old | 64 lbs

Koda got bit/stung late Friday. Slight red area; acted normal. Saturday evening place worse but he still acted fine. Sunday am it burst and old blood dripped out. He's in pain and I am taking him in as soon as vet opens. Any suggestions on pain relief right now?

Ouch, poor Koda! Unfortunately, there are no safe over the counter pain medications for dogs. Koda's vet will be able to prescribe any necessary medications. You can try placing a warm compress on the lesion periodically to temporarily provide a bit of relief until his appointment later this morning. I hope that he's feeling better soon!
