If this was an isolated incident, I would just monitor Simba unless you are concerned he ingested a foreign object. If he refuses to eat his next meal or continues to vomit, you need to follow up with your veterinarian for an exam and discuss bloodwork and x-rays.

If it was only one time and Bitsy is now OK, I wouldn't be too concerned. White foamy vomit could mean she went too long between meals which caused some stomach upset. You can try spreading out smaller meals more often, or offering a biscuit when you wake up in the morning to help keep something in her stomach.

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Poor Simba! Causes of vomiting can be from: intestinal parasites, viral or bacterial infections, ate something that is upsetting his stomach, ate something that is stuck, food allergy or intolerance, reaction to human food/new dog food/new treat. I would withhold water for 4-6 hours and food for 12 hours. If he stops vomiting for the water fast, offer small sips of water and ice chips frequently. If he doesn't vomit at the 12 hour mark, resume feeding but feed a bland diet of boiled chicken or hamburger with rice. Feed 1 cup per 20 lbs per day for 3-5 days as small frequent meals. If he continues to vomit during the fast or when food or water is reintroduced he should she a Vet. I hope this helps and I wish Simba a speedy recovery!

Blood in the vomit is definitely cause for concern, as it can indicate stomach ulcers, stomach parasites, or even a foreign body. As puppies are prone to getting into things they shouldn't, Simba may have ingested a toxin such as human pain medication or a piece of a toy. It is concerning that Simba did not feel well after vomiting. I recommend having him seen by a vet as vomiting blood can be a sign of a serious underlying condition. Your vet can perform bloodwork and x-rays to rule out the conditions above.

Yellow in the vomit is probably bile, but this doesn't necessarily make me concerned about a specific disease. If she seems to be acting fine otherwise and has no underlying medical conditions I think you can withhold food and water for six hours, then try offering a small amount of water. If she keeps it down you could then offer a small amount of a bland diet like plain boiled chicken and white rice (as long as she doesn't have food sensitivities). If she vomits again, seems lethargic or painful, develops diarrhea or won't eat then you should see your veterinarian promptly.

This morning I woke up to my dog throwing up. I went to clean it up and noticed it was all foam with a very, very small amount of blood. Once he went outside he ate a bit of grass and threw up three times again. All foam and no blood. I went to work
It is concerning that he has thrown up so many times in just a few hours. I would most certainly have him seen by a veterinarian ASAP. He may have stomach inflammation or a more serious issue like a gastrointestinal obstruction.

I would monitor her for lethargy, decreased appetite, diarrhea, abdominal pain (pain if you press on belly, trouble getting comfortable, going down into prayer position with front legs down and bottom up in air), or continued vomiting, or blood in vomit or stool. If these signs occur, she should see her vet!

Simba had diahhrea while I was out and ate some of it.He's throwing up poop/bile.This happened when as a puppy too,he was ok after 1 hr. will he be ok
Poor Simba! It sounds like he definitely has an upset stomach. You can try withholding food for the next 12 hours to give his stomach a chance to settle, then feed a bland diet of plain boiled chicken and rice for the next few days until things are back to normal. If this doesn't help, or if he continues to vomit or is acting lethargic or not wanting to eat, then it would be best to have him seen by a vet as these can be signs of a more serious problem.

Got the wrong flavor of dog food and he refuses to eat it. I'll have his usual in 8hrs. He's peed/pooped normally and is his usual happy self. Threw up maybe 2tbsp of white foam earlier but nothing since. Do i wait and watch or is it urgent?
I would suggest to withhold food for the next 8-12 hours and then start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice diarrhoea, more vomiting, lethargy or inappetence. My 11 month old shih tzu is throwing up. The first 2 were food and after has been white foam. There appeared to be pieces of a tennis ball in one after the food. He has gotten sick at least 10 times within 2 hours. Do I need to take him to emergency
I am so sorry Simba has been throwing up! Based on his clinical signs, I recommend taking Simba to the Emergency Veterinarian. If he is vomiting up foreign material, such as the tennis ball, it is possible there is more in his stomach or his intestines that could be causing a partial or full obstruction. I hope Simba feels better soon!

Should I take my dog to the vet? He is an 11lb Yorkie/Shih Tzu mix and he threw up today, a yellowish color, and there are tiny lines of bright red blood in the vomit. I've attached a picture below.
Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Poor Simba! There aren't any pictures attached, but that is ok! Anytime there is blood in the vomit or stool I recommend that the pet be seen by a Veterinarian. Blood in the vomit indicates stomach lining inflammation or ulceration. Causes of vomiting are: foreign body ingestion, parasites, viral/bacterial infections, toxin ingestion, pancreatitis, irritable bowel, food sensitivities or he ate something that didn't agree with him. If Simba is bright and happy then you can try fasting him and restarting food and water tomorrow. Feed a bland diet of boiled chicken or hamburger with rice. Feed small frequent meals about 3/4 cup total per day. then call your Vet in the morning. If he continues to vomit while being fasted he should be seen tonight.
