Dog on seizure meds still panting, eye pain. Is it a misdiagnosis?

Pet's info: Dog | West Highland White Terrier | Male | neutered | 10 years and 1 month old | 22 lbs

my dog is panting and breathing very hard also it seems his right eye is half open like he has pain there he has been in and out about 4 times in the last 2 days $2000.00 later he was diagnosed with sezyers and on meds Phenobarbital 45 mg twice a day i am wondering if he is missed diagnosed

I'm very sorry to hear that, it's very unlikely that Fred has been misdiagnosed, seizures are usually very obvious and are easily diagnosed by any vet. the problem is that at his age, the cause of seizures is usually something really serious, such as a brain tumor for example, and the Phenobarbital might not be helping much and possibly not for long either. if you are considering a second opinion, you should ask to be refereed to a specialist center with a neurologist and an MRI Scanner.
