My dog vomited gray. Is it cat litter? Should I take her to the vet?

My dog just vomited charcoal gray colored vomit. Sometimes she tries to eat cat litter so I'm hoping this is all it is. Should I take her in to be seen because this might be something else or just watch her?? She only vomited 2 small piles with one vomit episode and is acting her normal self otherwise.

Yuck! Poor Mattie. I would agree with you that the coloration of the vomit certainly looks similar to cat litter, so this is very possible. As long as you don't know of anything toxic that she may have gotten into, and she is acting normal otherwise, it should be okay for you to monitor her at home for now. I would withhold food for the next few hours to make sure that her stomach has a chance to settle. If she continues to vomit throughout the evening, or if she begins to act lethargic or show any other symptoms, then it would be best to take her to an emergency vet to be seen.
