My kitten was bitten, not eating, breathing heavily. What should I do?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 7 lbs

My 11 month old kitten was bitten by another cat about 10 days ago. She's had an injection of long lasting antibiotics 1 week ago, & 2 further injections of different antibiotics in the past 4 days. She is not eating so I can't give her the metacam prescribed & has been breathing heavily for the last 24 hours. I'm at a loss as to what to do now, she's been seen by the vet 3 times in the last week but is still going downhill. What can I do next?

I'm sorry to hear that Topsy has been going through this! It is concerning that you are now noticing breathing changes. This could indicate that Topsy has experienced a rib fracture from the bite, puncture into her lung fields, or is extremely painful from a more systemic infection. At this point, Topsy will need to go back to the vet and will likely need chest x-rays and other supportive medications or treatments, depending upon what is found. Breathing changes are an urgent matter and should be addressed quickly. I hope that she is on the mend soon!
