My dog has an intestinal tumor, low surgery success. What should I do?

My dog has been sick for the past month and didnt eat anything, vomitting, doesn't poop .. after Xrays and sonar we found that his intestin are allover itself and that there is a tumout inside his insestins .. he needs a surgery but the percentage is just 10%.. what should i do..?

I am so sorry to hear of your dog. I think this is a personal decision and there is no right or wrong answer. Some part of the decision may be financial, as surgery and aftercare can be quite costly and with a low chance of successful outcome then this must be considered. We wouldn't want someone to take money they need to pay their rent to attempt a surgery with a low success rate. That being said, you may be in a financial position where this isn't a concern. Then I would discuss with the vet what quality of life is expected to be if surgery is successful. If chemotherapy or other treatment might be required and the side effects/cost of this. You must also realize that if the surgery is unsuccessful then your dog's final days may be in a hospital instead of at home. If you are not ready to say goodbye or give up, however, then surgery may be the way to go. It is a very personal decision.
