My dog wets the bed with large puddles. Is it a UTI or incontinence?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Female | spayed | 4 years and 4 months old | 62 lbs

So, my dog went to the vet about 4 days ago to get her routine blood work and urine samples tested. Everything came back good except for her globulin was a little high. Vet said that's nothing to worry about. She had no UTI and her urine was perfect. The day before yesterday, she appeared to wet the bed, and I didn't think much of it, but it happened again a few minutes ago. It seemed like she urinated a large puddle without either realizing it or not bothered by it. Could she have a UTI now?

It is possible she is developing incontinence which is quite common in females, especially once spayed. UTIs generally are associated with frequent attempts, straining and small volumes of urine rather than leakage bed when sleeping or sitting. Contact your vets office to report the additional signs, most cases can be successfully managed with medication
