My French Bulldog is suddenly rubbing his groin. Why is he doing this?

Pet's info: Dog | French Bulldog | Female | spayed | 4 years and 4 months old | 36 lbs

my frenchbull dog has started rubbing his groin. Why do they do this? i assume he is not masturbating. He has been neutered and is 4 years old. It started a few months ago, and is happening more regularly.

Hi, If Franklin is just scratching, it could be due to an allergy or irritation. It could be possible there's something in his food or environment around him causing an allergy in his groin. Also it is a common area for bugs to bite so it could be a little reaction from bug bites. After ruling out any food allergy or bug bite, there are some medications such as Apoquel, Atopica, or Cytopoint that can assist with atopy but he would need to be seen by a veterinarian for these to be prescribed.
