My dog can't get up after grooming. How to treat her muscle fatigue?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Saint Bernard | Female | spayed | 2 years old | 165 lbs

My dog was taken to a groomer today& was forced to stand up on all fours on a small table for 2+ hrs straight. She's a 165lb St. Bernard,& gets drained from even running for less than 5min. She's extremely lively and always gets up when someone comes home, she hears the ice machine, or wants to follow her family into another room. But after she came home she did none of that. She can't get up st all and barely made it home. Ive been icing her legs. How can I properly treat this muscle fatigue??

The best treatment for muscle fatigue is massage and rest, you can do both at home. this mean no walks in the next couple days. if within 48 hours you do not see any improvement, you must take her to the vet as she will need pain killers as well.
