Is Fucidin cream safe for cat's infected spay wound if she licks it?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Female | spayed | 1 year and 1 month old | 6.6 lbs

My cat was spayed a week ago.. Everything went well :) But now, the wound is a little infected (the vet said). My vet also only saw the pictures attached. She recommended that i use fucidin cream. Is it safe? what happens if she licks a bit?

Hi there. You can sure use the Fucidin cream. Just use a thin layer and apply it twice daily. Try to distract her after applying it so if she does lick it it will have at least been on there for a bit to have some contact time to work! If she licks it she will be fine :) Good question!
