My parrot cries when I hold him, but flies back. Does he hate me?

My parrot is crying out when I hold him ... he does it for me and only me ... does he hate me ?I put him in his cage with the door open and he flies right back to me .

Vocalization doesn't mean your parrot hates you. If it's high-pitched or excited with lots of wing flapping or interest in you, it may just be that Maui is excited to see you and is trying to tell you that! If he's cowering, hunched over, or screeching as if in pain, then that may indicate he isn't comfortable, and giving him some time on his own to relax may help. If he's showing signs of illness or pain in addition to crying out, then scheduling a vet visit to rule out any issues is always best.
