Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | English Springer Spaniel | Female | spayed | 8 months and 9 days old | 40 lbs

I recently asked a question about a bump on my 8 months old springers head, went to the vet and she was diagnosed with a hitting her head. Mechanism Of injury is unknown but it sits on her occipital area, she was given NSAIDs, she woke up shivering, whimpering, and could not stand, the vet hospital found nothing in the morning besides a fever and dehydration, we went home still hurt, can puppies cause a disc buldge falling into flexion? cervical ROM are all painless except cervical flexion

Hi and i'm sorry to hear about Koa. I think your concern for neck pain is certainly legitimate. Getting hit on the head can also cause neck pain in some cases. There are other medications that she may need to feel better from her doctor: a muscle relaxant called roabaxin to help her aching muscles if she is having neck pain. If she still has a bump on her head and is having a fever that may be associated with infection. You could inquire about antibiotics as well from her doctor.
