Why does my cat have a raw, bleeding face rash and ear bumps?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 10 lbs

My cat has a rash on his face, under his eyes and across the bridge of his nose that is raw and bleeding. He also has developed bumps on the backs of his ears. What could this be?

Poor Inky could have allergic skin disease and a bacterial or fungal infection going on. He really needs to get some antibiotics on board, and likely your vet will want to do a skin scraping to look for mites and make sure he doesn't have fleas or other parasites. He may also need anti-itching medications to feel better.
