Pet's info: Dog | Boxer | Male | 125 lbs
My boxer has just been tested for Cushings. Cortisol pre-post ACTH and cortrosyn. He's also had his urine checked to. What should I expect from here on out? And what medication is typically used to treat this? He has gained 45 pounds and his normal weight is 80lbs. Will he lose the weight?

Poor Harley, that's quite a weight gain. If he does have Cushing's, it can usually be managed quite successfully with medication. Trilostane is the latest therapy, and I've had great results using it. And yes, once the disease is controlled, usually the clinical symptoms resolve as well, and in the case of his enormous appetite, getting that under control should cause him to lose the weight. Best of luck in getting this figured out.
