My dog suddenly stopped jumping and climbing. Is it a back issue?

My dog stopped climbing up to bedroom and jumping on couch suddenly . Have her on pred and although everything else is normal she is sleeping downstairs . She is a 5 year old golden. Vet said maybe back issue need MRI but that's expensive she has a few times went upstairs when excited or jumped on couch but not like before

If there is any chance your dog has a back issue you need to insure she does not climb, jump, or go down stairs at all for a few weeks. This is not a common issue in large breed dogs. She certainly sounds painful however and I would make sure she has some pain medication available like tramadol or gabapentin in addition to the steroids (pred).
